A Day to Day Account of How I Did It
Monday, February 20, 2017
Man, was I tired to start the day! I’m working out hard and I had a really long night on set. My muscles hurt and my face is swollen. My son is up and running all around the house and he’s hungry. Thankfully, my daughter is awake.
I have my first meal around 10:30 am. It’s the same thing: 6 egg whites and a half cup of oats with almond butter.
Mentally, I’m kind of down in the dumps. I start thinking about all of the blessings that I have, though: my wife, my kids, my career, I’m shooting a “killer” film project…I’m truly blessed! I start to come out of my doldrums.
My lesson for today was when we are feeling down, we need to take time and count our blessings. On any given day, our blessings out way anything negative going on. Focus on those things that are good, pure, praiseworthy…
Before I got to the gym, I was actually able to snap out of the funk that I was in.
Today is Chest, Back, and Abs…The guys at EOS Fitness keep trying to get me to join their gym because that’s where I’m training with Alex. I have the best deal with L.A. Fitness so there’s no reason.
Alex took me through:
1 Bench Press 5 sets x 8-12 reps
2 Chest Presses 3 sets x 20 reps
3 Bent Over BB Row 4 sets x 10
4a Wide Grip Pulldowns 5 sets x 10-15
4b BB Curls 5 x 12 reps
5a Triceps Rope Pulldowns 3 sets x 20 reps
5b Push Ups 3 sets x 10 reps
6 Ab Machine 3 sets x 15-20 reps
7 Mason Twists with Medicine Ball 1 set x 10 reps per side
He keeps switching it up! Doing it this way isn’t allowing me to get used to the workout. I had to warm up my left shoulder as it was hurting on the bench press. I’m loving the workouts and, I know that the workout is working. I have to stop with the little “cheats” that I’m doing on my diet. It can be difficult because I’m also filming right now.
Meal 2 was a 6-inch Subway Rotisserie sub on 9-grain honey oat. I had all the veggies, salt, pepper and light, light mayo.
Supplements: Amino Acids, T-Bomb, Fish Oil pills, Probiotics, and Arginine.
I feel kind of bloated, actually. Last night, I should not have had the pita and hummus…
The scene I’m shooting today, I’m not speaking. I’m more of a mindless zombie, but this is one of the scenes that I wanted to be ready for “physically.” Let’s see how it looks on camera!
SHOOT UPDATE…My outfit wasn’t ready when I got to set so, we are shooting the scenes on Thursday. This gives me two more days to get in even better shape! Be blessed, everyone and keep moving forward!

I’m up, I’m up! Yesterday, I got home earlier than expected as I was supposed to shoot 2 scenes but…my costume was not on set. So, I headed home and ate some really great veggie soup. It had chunks of chicken in it, lentils, bone broth, kale…super food!
This morning, I got up at 5 a.m. feeling a wee bit sore in my lower back. I should do some yoga, but I’m having to get my breakfast ready along with my other meals for the day, instead.
Meal 1: ½ cup of oatmeal, 1 tsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp almond butter, 5 egg whites + 1 yolk. I dropped a yolk in and didn’t feel like taking it out, let’s be honest. J
