“Words can bring death or life! Talk too much, and you will eat everything you say.”
Have you ever heard of the phrase, “You’re going to eat those words”? This is a true statement. Everyone will eat their words. You will be filled with what you eat. If your mouth is filled with doubt and unbelief, then your life will be filled with doubt and unbelief. If your mouth is filled with hatred, then your life will be filled with hatred also. But if your mouth is filled with the Word of God, then your life will be filled with the Word of God.
“A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled.” Proverbs 18:20
YOU SAY IT, YOU SOW IT
Words are seeds. Every time that you say something, you plant something. What are you planting? Are you planting seeds of success or failure? Are you planting seeds of healing or sickness? Are you planting seeds of promotion or layoff? If you say it, you sow it. And you will get a harvest of the seeds that you’ve planted. So if you don’t like what your life is producing, then you need to change the seeds that you are sowing. Don’t deceive yourself into thinking that you can plant negative words, but harvest positive results.
“You cannot fool God, so don’t make a fool of yourself! You will harvest what you plant.” Galations 6:7 CEV
Some people are like fish. If a fish kept his mouth closed, he wouldn’t wind up frying in hot grease. How many people are in hot grease because of their mouths? Don’t be a fish mouth! Don’t let your negative confessions put you in a trap. Most Christians need to shut up and talk. Shut up with the negative talk and start talking like God. Instead of your mouth getting you into trouble, use your mouth to get you out of trouble.
“Anyone who is careful about what he says keeps himself out of trouble.” Proverbs 21:23 NIRV
“Those who control their tongue will have long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything.” Proverbs 13:3 NLT
CHOOSE YOUR WORDS CAREFULLY!
Many people got laid off from their jobs because they said, “Everybody’s getting laid off. I bet they lay me off next.” Many Christians caught the flu because they said, “That flu is going around. Just my luck, I’ll get it too.” Let me ask you a question. How many people do you know who received healing by confessing, “I’m sick as a dog”? How many people do you know who win in life by constantly confessing, “I’m a failure. I’ll never make it”?
There is creation in your mouth. There’s power in your words. Your words make things happen. You have enough obstacles to face going after your vision. Don’t hinder the process even more by speaking negative words. Don’t hurt yourself with your mouth. Don’t help the enemy by giving him ammunition.
“Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.” Matthew 12:36-37 MSG
You must control your tongue. Guard your mouth. Master your words before your words master you. If you say it, you sow it, and you’ll produce a harvest of what you’ve sown.
