“Jesus said, “Get up, take your bedroll, start walking” (John 5:8 MSG)
There is a sports term “out of position” that suggest that a ball player is likely to miss a ball or lose a game. Many outfielders in baseball lost a game because they were “out of position.” If either the ball went over their head or they could not get to it.
There are some biblical characters were “out of position” and they had to grab hold to responsibilities. One such person was this fellow at the pool of Bethesda who was lamed and full of excuses. “The sick man said, “Sir, when the water is stirred, I don’t have anybody to put me in the pool. By the time I get there, somebody else is already in.” (John 5:7 MSG). His complaining kept him stuck in that position and he would not responsibility-accountable.
According to John Maxwell, the motivator, “if you don’t take responsibility, you give up control of your life.” This person was willing to settle. He willing to live his life “out of position.”
Well, we will not settle and we strive to get up from places and situations that want to confine us. Listen and obey Jesus’s voice “GET UP” and seize your responsibilities. We have the ability to try. “Out of position” and get in the right position and TRY.
