“So they went to Mysia and tried to go north to Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus wouldn’t let them go there either” (Acts 16:7 MSG).
The back story of the text above is that Paul was desiring to check on the churches he had established, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to go. The text didn’t say how the Spirit prevented them, but God said No…”Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there” (Acts 16:7 NLT).
When God says No, we should take heed to God’s voice. God has a plan for our lives…”For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV). God knows what’s best, and will send people who will try to direct our ways and path.
We need to listen for God’s voice and welcome his peace for our journey. Listen to God’s yes for your life…”Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness” (Col 3:15 MSG). Let God rule and be the governor in your life, deciding the Yes or No of your success.
Lord I am listening for your voice and I am waiting for your direction, and I am willing to obey your commands. When you say NO, then no it is. And when you say Yes I am going to move with urgency. Father, your word continues to be “… a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105 KJV), guiding and leading me through my journey successfully. Speak Lord. Amen.
God’s Peace and Good Journey!
